Al Maeda is an upscale Arabic cuisine restaurant located at DoubleTree by Hilton Jumeira, which provides traditions elegantly blended with glamour in style . The restaurant offers a full service bar and the outdoor terrace with a breathtaking sea view and the Dubai eye, ideal to relax and try out Shisha. The outdoor terrace seating is best for this weather. The restaurant is quite huge and can accommodate a lot of guests. Its an ideal location for parties.
Well coming to the ambience, I must say its beautiful. The interiors, decors, cutlery everything was perfect. As the weather was nice I chose to have the terrace seating. The restaurant Manager Mohammed briefed me about the cuisine and the dishes.
Well coming to the food, this was my very first experience having a full Lebanese meal. I was impressed. To start off, we had Pomegranate Soda and Lemon Mint Soda.
Coming to the starters, I had the Watermelon salad with Feta cheese, Fattoush, Original Chickpeas Hummus, Ganoush, Mutabal and Hot Mezze. The assorted hot Mezze had Kebbeh, Cheese Rekakat, Sambousek and Spinach Fatayer.
Coming to the maincourse, I had the Mix Grill which had Lamb chops, Sheesh Tawook, Lamb Kofta and Lamb Kebab. The platter was accompanied with a spicy dip, garlic paste and another dip which was more like hummus. I also had Maftoul with vegetables which is a side dish instead of rice. Its more like couscous with vegetables. I tried Kibbeh Bil Sayneeyeh which is made with minced meat and cracked meat using a few spices and then baked.
I finished off my scrumptious meal with two desserts which were succulent. I had the Basbousa Cheesecake where the outer shell is white chocolate and inside that is the cheesecake. The white chocolate melts when the hot strawberry sauce is poured on top of it. The cheesecake was delicious. The last dessert was the Mango Mahalabia garnished with pistachios, fresh diced mango cubes and dried kunafa.
Overall I had a great dining experience at Al Maeda. The Executive Chef, Assistant Chef and the restaurant Manager were very accommodating and made sure we had a great experience. If you haven’t tried Lebanese food then I would highly recommend trying Al Maeda. The hotel has Valet parking so not to worry abiut the parking as well.
