Kaftan brings the taste of Ottoman & Turkish cuisine to the heart of Dubai in La Mer. The modern Turkish restaurant evolves around the essence of great Turkish hospitality and culture. The restaurant is facing the the La Mer beach and is a relaxing place for some good talks over great Turkish food.

We started off our Turkish food journey with some complimentary bread and dip. The bread was so fresh and soft and went well with the dip. We then ordered for some fresh Watermelon juice, Orange juice and Kiwi Margarita. They were very fresh and refreshing.

We started off with a Hot Mezze Platter (AED 95) that had a variety of Mezze dishes. They were so succulent. We then ordered for Karisik Izgara (AED 245) for 2 people which had selection of their most popular grills like Tavuk Pirzola,Tavuk Sis, Kasaf Kofte, Adana Kebab, Kuzu Sis and Doner Kebab. Their platter is for 2 people and is so filling. The kebabs were extremely delightful. It is known as a platter for 2 but can easily be shared between 3-4 people. I had the best Turkish kebabs ever in this platter.

As the restaurant was serving Anatolia delicacies on the menu I sure wanted to try the Tire Kofte (AED 85) which is the Anatolian signature dish. The Tire meatballs cooked with grilled butter bread, tomato sauce and yogurt was just out of the world. This dish is highly recommended if you visit Kaftan.  Another Anatolian delicacy in Kaftan is the Tuzda Incik (AED 75). It is a lamb shank cooked on slow flame for 3-4 hours in a salt ball. The lamb shank meat was so soft and juicy. The lamb shank was accompanied by mashed eggplant but it tasted so much like mashed potato.

I so full after such a scrumptious Turkish meal but i sure had to try their authentic Turkish desserts. I ordered for Kunefe (AED 40) which is a traditional Turkish dessert accompanied with Turkish ice-cream. It was toothsome. I also tried Dondurma Tabagi (AED 30)– 3 scoops of Turkish ice-cream. I chose Chocolate, Vanilla and Strawberry. The ice-creams tasted so natural and fresh.

The restaurant has a huge seating area and excellent staff. Our server helped us choose the best from the menu. I would love to go back and dine in at Kaftan.
