A premier choice among Japanese restaurants in Deira for over a decade, Minato’s hospitality and authentic Japanese food remain unmatched today. Minato features classic traditional Japanese dining spaces like a teppanyaki table, sushi bar and private tatami rooms, which add to the authentic flavor of the entire dining experience. The warm interiors and minimalistic decor lay out an inviting tone to visitors, making Minato a favored eatery of many Japanese locals. Handcrafted sushi, sashimi, creamy broths and a host of other traditional Japanese dishes make for a hearty meal at this restaurant.
I visited Minato for a Sushi Teppanyaki Night buffet and this was my first ever visit to a Japanese restaurant and being seated in a tatami room. The buffet was wide spread with a variety of Soups, Salads, Sushi, sashimi, Ramen and Desserts.
Minato has a live counter where in, you chose the ingredients and the chef will prepare your stir fry dish. I chose to have chicken and shrimps stir fry and I asked the chef to choose the ingredients and make me a luscious stir fry. The stir fry was indeed delicious with the perfect amount of spices and sauce in it. The chef can also make you a sushi of your choice. I was in love with the sushi spread and managed to try one of each. My personal favourites among the sushi spread were Vegetable Maki, Salmon Cream Cheese Maki, California Maki and Chicken Maki. The tempura assortment was great. Miso Ramen and Yaki Udon were the best in the main course. The desserts collection was very limited and had a few pastries and fresh fruits.
Overall experience was astonishing and would recommend Minato to all Japanese lovers.
